Don't scare me like that I've just double-checked on the Royal Mail website and it says the 19th is the last day for 1st class mail which is just as well seeing as I've put that on my site

Yup post is shocking at the mo - nothing sent 1st class seems to be arriving next day. I have put on my website that last posting day is 19th so any orders received before then should arrive before xmas.

And the queue at my village post office this afternoon was well out of the door (was raining too - boo) poor Cyril the postmaster said it'd been like that all day and he hadn't even had time to drink his tea from the morning - lots of old dears posting cards and parcels who didn't understand the new postage size thingy apparently.

personally i HATE the new system. cant send anything without cross-referencing it with the book! bring back payment by weight only & just put the prices up a bit!!

When the RM prices werre changed in August I saw an interview with one of the top managers about why they had made the changes. She had a football with her that was wrapped (badly I have to add) in birthday paper. She said that this item was very difficult to handle for the RM. I wouldn't go through the machinery, it was difficult to handle and difficult to deliver but because it hardly weighed anything the price for delivery was practically nothing! I hadn't thought I that sort of thing, with the new rules something like that will cost more to send which covers more of their costs. I am not a royal mail spokesman or anything! but I can see why they made some changes, they are a business after all like many of us and they need to cover costs to stay in business. I suppose as my items are all pretty much the same shape and size and weight I don't have too many problems, large letter does me pretty much everytime! I understand that it must be more difficult if your items are various sizes. I got a cardboard template from the royal mail website so I can check that the packets will go through the relevant slots, it was sent free, and that helps me assess what the costs will be. Just my opinion of course!

i'm not closing, people can buy off my website on xmas day if they want buy i don't think they will

i'm not really expecting any sales between now and xmas anyway, everyone buying lampwork to make into jewellery would have bought by now anyway
