  • My daughter's computer art

My 14 year old daughter did this on her computer, using her mouse, I think it's absolutely stunning, & she was amazed by my reaction, but I really do love it. Now of course I'm biaised, she's my girlie after all, but there's just something about it, the simplicity of it & I would love to know your honest opinions & thoughts:

I like it too, not only because I know just how difficult it is to draw with a mouse, but yes, it has a certain naive quality about it that's very appealing. Tell her to keep it up, she has an artistic future ahead of her!

It's relaxing on the eye and the colour combo is pretty good too!

Make sure you keep it ...it will be worth a fortune when she's famous!

I really like it. It says 'greetings card' to me all over. She must get it from you.

My daughter's artistic too, although she's only 8 so isn't producing anything like this. It's still a wonderful feeling though when your child does something you can be proud of. Tell your dd to keep it up!

It is rare for young artists being creative to know when to stop: this one is special! Our eldest did an abstract painting when he was 18 months old that just 'has something'. We framed it and put it on the wall: visitors think an adult did it, but it was just fluke! I wonder if we made too much of it because now he isn't happy unless what he does is awesome, and it rarely is (he just got 92% in a test and cried). No amount of rationality seems to help! Umph.
If I ever make anything good enough to sell, I'll want to keep it!

Thanks all for your comments, Georgia is chuffed to bits, she really lacks confidence in her art, as she constantly compares herself to her friend who is an excellent artist, and I'm always telling her she's good, but to hear it from other (artistic) people means a lot to her.

I am planning to make it into a card, as I agree, I think it will be a lovely one.

                          Thanks again

I used to be an art teacher and would be very impressed, she is displaying a good understanding of colour, form and composition and her image is also enchanting.

I agree with everyone here, it's a really good image. Card or postcard definitely. She really needs to keep it up, and who knows what lies ahead...
