  • Want some scrabble tiles and bails, anyone supply them?

I know there are several people on here have shops so hopefully someone can help!

I want to have a go at making scrabble tile pendants but the components arent very easy to track down, there are some on ebay but thats not exactly reliable and I prefer to get everything together so I dont pay a fortune in postage. So am after wooden scrabble tiles, Aanraku? bails in silver plate, the ones with just one side to stick down and possibly diamond glaze if they do small bottles, might give it a go with the resin I already have first. Anyone?

Let me know the dimensions of the tiles, including thickness and quantity + light or dark wood and I'll give you a price if you're interested.

The only place I've found aanrauku bails and diamond glaze are on Etsy from American sellers. Someone else on here might be able to point you in the right direction in the UK though.

I think there's a hole in the market over here for these items, maybe someone on here who has a shop might do well becoming a UK supplier.

Warm glass sell the aanraku bails http://www.warm-glass.co.uk/Shop/Cat...?CategoryId=33

I think they're expensive for what they are though. You can make lovely tube bails from a bit of silver strip.

Diamond glaze is available from most papercraft suppliers - or try the main judikins distributor:

Have you tried charity shops for the scrabble tiles?

The wooden scrabble tiles are american tiles , I bought a big bag full of ebay about a year ago , you can get them on etsy but they tend to be quite expensive.
If you know anybody who lives in America or is visiting soon get them to visit thrift stores and send or bring them back for you as it works out much cheaper

Thanks all, have got some diamond glaze off ebay, its half the price in america but I cant find it cheaper here. Got some tiles (not real scrabble but pretty close) from craftshapes, thank you for the offer wiw but they were only a couple of quid so sounds like a lot of work to go to for that amount of money! I didnt realise the wooden ones were american, that makes sense as they are easily available over there but not so here. I agree there is most definately a gap for someone to fill there.

Didnt think about making the bails myself but think I will give that a go, I do like playing with wire so will see what I can come up with.I am assuming I can use epoxy resin to fix the bail to the pendant, if that wrong I would be grateful if someone could let me know!
