Paper/card storage

Hi- I need to organise my card and paper stock and would like to know if anyone has any ideas where I can look for some.

My ideal would be the wooden drawer units they sell at Ikea but I can't find them on their website - don't want to drive there if they don't do them anymore!! They had maybe 3 or 4 drawers in unfinished pine sort of wood that you could paint or decorate.

Or maybe plastic drawer units.

Any ideas?

Have you tried Wilko? they do loads of different sorts- cheap too!
Or Au Naturale? They have some decent wooden shelves etc. They have changed hands recently and did have a sale on- dont know if its still going or not?

I store my card in a plastic drawer thingy that I got from Wilkinsons. They do them in A4 and A3 size last time I looked. You could always go for a Trofast system that they do at Ikea. It's in the childrens section. You can get drawers in a variety of depths which is quite useful for sorting out what you are storing.

I will have a look in wilko tomorrow because it's closer- otherwise I will HAVE to go to Ikea- what a shame!!! Does anyone else go there for 1 item and end up spending a forune????

I got my plastic see through storage unit from Argos. It stands on the floor about 3ft high with 5/6 drawers of different depths for A4 size paper/card. I also use office envelope folders and box files. Or how about a narrow bookshelf, I got one from Argos. They were both about #20 (sorry my pound sign is still not working!).

I use a filing cabinet that someone kindly offered me on freecycle. It came with those file holders and I have them all organised by colour, and types. It's massive so it holds tons of card and paper.
I also have a bookshelf/display thing too, a big wide wooden thing, which holds cards that have already been cut, and envelopes too. I have another exactly the same in my bedroom that holds all my towels!

Hey,

I was in the £1 shop the other day and saw that they had plenty of storage stuff - drawers, clip boxes etc.
I haven't been back in since, so I'm not sure if there's much left but I might pop up this afternoon.
I need to sort out my card stuff, cos I seem to have lost my MASSIVE steel ruler

I got some storage boxes from our £ shop and some plastic folders and put it all in there but as its growing i'm running out of room i've now adopted one end of the dining room with everything stacked up i'm hoping the hubby will take the hint eventually and get me something more suitable

Wendy keeps hers in a custom made paper storage tower that I made it holds A3 A4 and 12 x12. It does help that I'm a carpenter/joiner but they were quite easy to make, 1 sheet of 12mm ply made all 3 parts plus some thin 3mm ply for the back, I used through housing joints but if you drill and screw it all together with a decent glue it would be strong enough

Thanks again everyone- I got the plastic drawer units from Wilkinsons- a 6 drawer and a 3 drawer unit for a bargain price of £15!!! I am so chuffed!!!
