  • I want to cry!!! Help with cutting cotton jersey

I feel like my project is a no go before I have started!!

I am cutting out cotton jersey in lengths os about 64" x 20"- and then i need to pin on my pattern and cut this out.

I want to cut about 6 pieces at a time.

But all that is happening is the material is curling up round the edeges and I can't keep it all flat!!! Grrrrr!!!

Any advice out there greatly appreciated..

    *sniff* *sniff*

Cotton jersey is always going to curl up when it's cut, because it has a stretchy element to it. You could try cutting with pinking shears, and the best thing will be to iron it and pin it down to something else as soon as finished cutting.

Could you iron on some backing to the area you wan to cut, that may keep it flat.
