  • A happy feeling

Amidst my horrific thoughts that I have at times I also seem to be having happy thoughts.
Ive given in and allowed myself to think of my life as a crafter, working selling, creating, eating breathing living craft!!
In my fantasy Im my own boss, buying my own supplies with my own money, keeping my own records of accounts, organising myself, motivating myself, etc and aaaaaa liiiike iiiit!!

It makes me so happy!!(in a subdued, thoroughly english kinda way)

Just had to share that with you guys.
When the feeling goes and I slump back in to reality at least I can look back and read this.

When did you realise you were the boss of your life, and how did it feel?

Not to make you feel bad..but what you described is my life at the moment! I am my own boss, I design and craft all day. Talk to suppliers, arrange meetings, etc etc. I used to be a manager in an IT company working all the time, stressed, wound up, shouting orders, nightmare boss really I suppose. Then I became ill and to cut a very long story short had to leave and work from home. The illness is not great but the change in my life is totally positive on the work front. It can happen Seahorse. Just I don't wish you my route here but a much nicer one to get to the same place. Keep dreaming it is what makes you a human being.

I used to dream and now my dream has come true I now have a small craft business and loving every minute of it. Started of as a hobby and is now doing well. Will never be a multi millionare but who wants more money than they can ever spend.

Molly love Brighton must be great to live there, we went there for the day today had a great time. Maybe we should kick out some of the shops in the lanes and open a string of craft shops (now who's dreaming...lol)

Theres nothing wrong with dreaming and yes they can come true!!

A couple of years back I had the big high paid high stress job as an accountant in a practice which had complete control ove rme and my life. It suddenly got to a point when I just couldn't stand it anymore and was making me ill. Me and my husband decided to take the gamble and I jacked it all in. Obvously we missed the money big time but he has progressed well in his job and made up for the difference in money since so we have been very lucky. I then got myself a part-time job as an accountant for a roofing company who are absolutely great to work for, just me and my bosses in the office and they are the best I have to say, I gte no stress, no demands, nothing, just go in and do my job in my contracted hours and its great. I then got into my craft as a hobby in my spare time, but it started doing really well so started it up as a business, so now i work part-time int he day and ocme home and do my craft stuff, and I love it!! But yep, the paperwork is the worst part, I ama trained accountant and am fine doing other peoples accounts, but when it comes to my own its all chucked in a box somewhere to deal with at a later date!!!

So keep on with your dreams and one day they will become a reality!!!

My dream now is to have my own coffee shop with a craft shop attached, fingers crossed!!!

I love your id MollyMandy, reminds me of when I was little as used to love the Milly Molly Mandy books and it was my nickname, LOL!!

I always wanted a big book shop come coffee shop with big comfy chairs so people could read the books as they drank their coffee, and it would smell of homemade cakes and cinnamon!!! But soon realisedpeople would just come in to drink the coffee and read the books, not buy any, and would probably spill their coffee over the books, and I'd make no money

But am aiming for the coffee shop come crsaft shop one day. I sued to live in Devon and hope to move back down that way eventually and maybe resalise my dream then!!

I have to admit Ive not done any proper paperwork/accounts etc(Im dreading having to fill in that horrid tax form ive heard about) but I love being organised with all my invoices in a folder.
Its a holographic sparkly folder obviously, who says accounts cant be glam!

Glad to hear I am not the only one. I am on the verge of redundancy from my day job as a debt counsellor and think that maybe this might give me the push I need to set up a beading business. I have a very supportive husband too, which really helps.

Dont give up your dreams, you can do anything you want and at the risk of sounding pretentious, you should acknowledge your fears and do it anyway !

There, I am off my soap box now ...

I must admit - it is silly little things that make you change what you want to do. I used to be a teacher but after moving back up north I found out I was pregnant and that made me decide I didn't want to teach anymore. Made the birth announcements for my elder daughter, Christmas cards that year and I haven't looked back - I just need to look forward now!
