Can't sleep!!!

Hi, poor me, can't sleep!!!Just got up to check on the forum! Our 'big' computer paxked up last week and Bob was away when my PINK LAP TOP came for my birthday pressie so I waited for him to come home tos et it up for me.It is beautiful!!!! It was drivingme mad not being able to check my emails and the forum. I didn't really have time to go to the library and use a PC there. My sister and her hubby are coming from France todayto stop the night with us before they go to see her daughters' in Leeds and near Heathrow. We have had another set back with this extension. The decorator has been here trying to get the walls all undercoated in white so that it looks reasonable for Christmas. We decided to get the bathroom finished so that hecould put up all the lovely black things I had bought. The walls are going to be a metallic shimmery silver and the walls have been plastered so badly they have shown every lump and bump because of the metallic paint. After one coat he decided that there was no point going on with a second coat because the walls need re -skimming. What a let down. The decorator is a lovely manand does every job as though it was for himself. He doesn't cut corners and does a really good job. The next morning he tol the builder that the walls need re doing and do you know what?He hasn't even contacted us!!! I sent him a list of things that need finishing off last week and we never heard from him about that. I am disgusted about the whole thing!!!! Lots of things have been done wrong and it was started in February and we are still sort of upside down!!!! Sorry I'm having a moan!!! I had better get back to bed and try to sleep as at this rate I'll be in bed when they arrive at 5pm tomorrow,no I mean today!!!!! I will post a couple of pics of us all!!

I can't sleep either! Sounds like a nightmare job with the extension and I can understand how having workmen in is a pain. We've got the plumbers in at the moment and they are hopefully going to finish today but I very much doubt it. I'm not very well at the moment and I'm also worrying about that as we are away over Christmas and when I thought I was getting better something else happens that makes me go - urgh! Off to try and see the nurse today......

I am but that's not what's causing this! It basically started out as a stomach virus then then turned into various infections in different parts of my body. I'm also on antibiotics and am having side effects from those. Just been one of those months really!!

I sympathise with both SusieQ and swirlyarts! It will be beautiful in the end though, once the dust has settled for the 25th time!

We have had to move into our house before it is finished and the builders insist they have a whole room to be able to make a mess in!!!! It happens to be the future diningroom and so I am unlikely to have my table up for Christmas! The nerve of them, they asked why I haven't put decs up yet and I said cos that was just another lot of my stuff to get a thick layer of sawdust!

The best thing I find for getting some sleep when you really can't is Clary Sage essential oil - a few drops on a tissue next to your head and you will wake up in the morning feeling fab!! A few drops mind cos too many and you wake up feeling groggy but still having slept for hours!

Sorry that you can't sleep ((hugs)) - I hope you were finally able to fall asleep last night!! I totally understand what you are going through with the no sleeping thing, I have a neurological, Chronic Pain Condition and I only get about 3hrs sleep a night maximum!! It is so frustrates and makes me feel really miserable!!

Sorry to hear about all of the trouble that you are having with the extension, I hope you are able to get it sorted soon! I can't believe you are going through a similar thing to us - I can't sleep well either and guess what? We've just had an extension built lol!!! With me having a chronic pain syndrome, I can't walk well at all as it affects my left leg and right arm so the council and my mum decided that it would be best to have an extension built so that we could have a downstairs bathroom in the house so that I don't have to keep going up and down stairs. They started doing the extension about 10 weeks ago and it is just finished however it still needs decorating. We also had to have a new Kitchen fitted and that's been an absolute nightmare to try and get sorted - my mum and dad started it about 6 weeks ago and it still isn't finished!! Someone is coming tomorrow to lay the lino so hopefully we are getting somewhere - fingers crossed it will be sorted for Christmas!!!

Your new laptop sounds great and really girly - I love pink!! I have a computer but my mum has a pink laptop - I'm so jealous of her!!!

It really annoys me when I hear of builders messing people about, there are so many good small outfits that try their hardest to get the job done on time, within budget and a top quality job, that are being held back by the cowboys giving builders a bad name. I am quite fortunate that untill I had to give it up last year both my self contracted work and agency work I had an excellent reputation, without advertising I always had work on my books. there were a few times when things didnt go to plan but I always kept every one informed of what was happening and work extra hours to get the job done. Humph bloomin cowboys I hate them!

Try getting up a 6am and then working 'til 6pm and you'll soon sleep the night through lol!
I shouldn't joke though, I am so thankful that I have been getting my sleep lately. I am okay during the day and then it gets late, that's when there's nothing to do to distract me from thinking about my mum. I talked to my dad and he said he gets a few hours a night, and my brother not even that!

I don't bother with builders, anything they can do, I can probably do to the same cowboy standards, without having to fork out for it.
If it is too complicated then I call my dad!
Me and my dad are going to put up plasterboard in my craft room (all the walls are falling down!) and then skim it. I'll probably do the wallpapering
on my own though! I think I can manage that one lol
