  • is this a stupid idea

has it already been done ??
I'm relatively new to facebook so just call me stupid if its already 'out there'
its just I was thinking that a lot of you have added me as a friend on facebook and I was wondering if it would be possible for us to as a group have our own facebook page advertising our items for sale etc
maybe ' handmade by us for you '
then I was thinking we could get all our ' non crafty ' friends to add us and then their ' non crafty ' friends would possibly see what we're doing and selling and it might bring in more sales
    what do you think

haven't really thought it through properly but its an idea that sprung to mind earlier
its just I'm a member of other craft forums too and have got to know a few crafty people since starting cardmaking and I bet you all do to and I thought it would be good to have us all in one place , obviously it wouldn't be a website where people could buy from but more like a shopping mall that could lead to our individual websites in some way and as a lot of us are on facebook I thought it could be a great way to spread the word !!
after all we've all got friends who have friends who have friends lol and most people due to human nature are pretty nosey and love to click on links I know I do !!

not sure how it would work though would it need one person to be in charge so to speak ??? or would we all share a password
not sure how groups work on facebook
I have these crazy ideas and want it all done immediately lol not got much patience but I just think it could be such a cool way to spread the word for all of us

It's fairly straightforward to start a facebook group. You just go to the facebook home page once you're logged in, click groups in the right hand column and then the create new group button. Fill in the form and bob's your uncle. I think the person setting it up becomes the administrator. It can be open to all of facebook or by invite only I believe. You have to nominate a group type which would be common interest and a sub-type which would be hobbies & crafts, these are options in a drop down menu. You also need to write a brief description of the group.

By all means if you feel like taking the plunge, just set it up, link to it from here and we will all join

I shouldnt' really take anything else on this near christmas as we're soooooooo busy but unfortunately once I get these ideas I have to act on them lol
when my son was 15 I needed some support from other parents but soon realised that most of the help was for under fives
within a day I'd set up my forum for parents of teenagers and five years later its still going strong
so if I get it up and running are you all willing to join and get your friends to add us ????
