Achilles and Polyxena are named after Greek a God/Goddess. Mariebelle is a Seal Point Birman and as her prefix is Picnmix I thought she should have something of the chocolate theme. So Mariebelle is the name of a chocolatier in New York.
We are now considering breeding from Poly and Belle but before we go down that line we need to think of a prefix.
We have to submit 6 names to the GCCF so far our list is as follows:-
Sakhmet - Egyptian God/Goddess with a Lion Head
Mun-Ha - A priest
Sinh - the cat change by the priest to a Birman
Tsim-Kyam-Kse - The temple where the priest changed the cat to a birman
Lao-Tsun - the place where the temple is in Burma
We used to have a goldfish that my DD named Buttercup I always thought that was quite unusual for a fish!
"Human beings, who are almost remarkable in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so" - Douglas Adams
I used to have a lovely little tortoishell - she was called Rova, our siamese cross (mother had a taste for the "low life") was named Chi - we looked at a map of where Siam used to be and found a river with that name.
Our current cat is Garrett (steam engines being one of Jones' interests).
we bought our son a tank and some goldfish for his 4th bday in sept and he has called them roary, lighting(mcqueen) and tow mater, all after cartoon cars! And we used to have a funny coloured cat that my daughter took to calling urgh(as in yuck!) and finally our builder give us a kitten 3 years ago and the name cukkus has stuck. I pity any animal that comes to us to be named!
