  • Can I recycle my silver??

Since Ive started to make beaded jewellery items with Sterling Silver, Ive found that all the trimmings left from Head pins/Eye pins ect starts to build up.

Thinking 'WOW what a waste' Ive started to save all the bits in a jam jar..not really knowing what i'm going to do with it.

Is there a way of re-using the scrap.
can I melt it myself and cast it or something similar?

    any info much appreciated!!

    Hi Miss Contrary
If you go onto cooksongold.com you can order a free "scrap pot"
when it's full you send it back and they give you money for it

You can recycle used silver yourself but you have to be careful
as impurities such as solder etc are often present which can affect the
purity of the metal (& whether it could be hallmarked).
By sending it to the experts you can get the benefit without the hassle
