  • Are hearts tacky?

Im trying to put some wedding craft together and all I can think of adding is hearts.
Ive never been a fan of hearts(or bows).

    Are they considered tacky?

    What else could I use?

I agree about the hearts, everyone uses them!

I've seen some really pretty wedding favours that had gold and ivory butterflies on them or you could maybe use a simple flower or two?

Im using a 1930's wedding pictures then i was gona hang wedding charms from it underneath, but the picture itself looks very undecorated in comparison.

Wish I could leave my job and go buy craft stuff, grrrr.Dam job getting in the way of my fun!!

Good luck with your favours/invitations, let us know what you decide on.

Hearts can be nice - you've just got to use them in a different way. Have you tried adding diamante/sparkly things to bits of the wedding photos to add a bit more oomphh? If they are black and white/handcoloured this can look really good - I've got some old postcards that I've done this with and they look good. Butterflies are big in stationery design at the moment as are flowers. Go for something different - I've recently done some great wedding stationery for a friend that used gerberas as a theme and bright pink and green as the colours! It sounds odd but it really worked. Black, white and silver is also very striking.

Seeing as Im only mucking about at the mo, Ive left the pic blank. Its kind of black/white/slightly sepia. So I put a silver border round it that looks good, then added symetrical jewlery elements from the bottom, of square glass components in metal casing with a ab heart hanging from those. If id had a plain crystal heart Id have used those to match it up.
Looks ok.I stuck to subtle colours, not too fussy.May add lace next time.
