i got a new computer recently

but when looking for a computer think about what sort of money you want to spend

do you want a desktop or laptop?

what do you want to use your computer for?

if you just want it to use the internet you can get a cheaper on e

i use my laptop for my website as well as picture editing etc, and i also have wireless interent so i can use it anywhere in the house.

you can get some good laptop and desktop computers now for under £500

try dell or pc world, both have some good deals on

dell always come up reallly well in the WHICH? magazines. But as a hint, do not settle for the first price they quote you. You can haggle with them and get really big reductions. I hate the idea so I leave it to my DH who loves the challange!

Mine's isnt anything special at all to be honest and i think the cheaper Dell ones will be enough for what you're looking to do.

Get yourself a cheap computer and get your stuff on ebay and i'm sure it will sell !!!!!!!!!!!!

              Ahhh, thanks.

I was also wondering-A question for people that make things for their business at home.Do you have to insure your home as a place of work or does it just come under normal house insurance?

                Hi Seahorse

I had my home insurance with Nationwide and I just upgraded to the next package up which includes working from home (plus cover for other things like if my hubby floods the house with his DIY skills etc etc) - it didn't cost all that much more ... I'd imagine all other companies do pretty much the same thing.

Oooh just thought, check whether your current insurance already covers you 'cos the one we upgraded from was just the cheapy budget type.

Thanks, Il ask.My parents pay all the bills(yes I still live at home).
Maybe if i get my butt into gear I may be able to earn enough money to pay something towards insurance.

dell is definately the way forward. they have PC's that are just fine for less than £400

as long as it has the following you will be ok for a while.

                      80+ GIG hard drive
3 gig processor (preferrably Pentium, Athelon is OK, steer clear of celeron)
                      512mb ram
                      DVD/RW
                      minimum 17" screen

                      James.

Run a website with pictures/secure credit card system.Parents would want to book plane tickets, surf the net for supplies, send emails.
                          Thats about it really.
