Three of the bracelets I took to a local shop in town have sold! I am so pleased.. and the owner says he quite fancies one of the remaining ones for herself, and another girl has tried on an onyx one several times. the owner said at the end of the month she would like me to bring a few diffrent ones in to switch around and have some new work on display.
    I'm totally gobsmacked and happy..

              Hi Meridian,

That's superb news, well done. your work is lovely.

Can I ask a cheeky question? I would love to sell my jewellery into local shops but am not sure what basis to do it on? Do you sell it to them and recommend a retail price, sell on a sale or return basis, or does the shop just make a commission?! I hope you don't mind me asking?

              Thanks

hi littlegems... not cheeky at all... we agreed on a price because some of my nicer more expensive jewellery with sterling findings and such wouldn't sell at a good price in my town. so we agreed on a price for when they would sell and then she just added her percentage (commission) ontop of what I wanted back for each piece that sold.

at the end of the month she wants me to bring in some new pieces to swap with whatever else is there, so I'm really positive about it. I think what you do depends on the shops you go to... now I jsut have to buck up the courage to try to take my art work to a gallery for the gallery owner to have a look at.. *totally petrified*

thank you so much everyone... i feel really close to tears with all these lovely comments.. thank you

                            Well done Meridian

Such a good feeling having your work accepted and wanted, I had a look at what you are making, it looks very nice indeed.

All the best for future sales.
