    Photo's please help.

I am not very brilliant on a computer but can usually get around OK. The technical bits throw me. I have some photo's I wanted to show you but cant get them from the file they are in to here. I have them on Windows Photo Gallery. The only other photo program I have is Olympus. I suspect I need another program - if so - what. Please help?????

I would suggest you use flickr - download to there and just add links like we all do

      Images

      Hi Carol,

Yes, this forum isn’t the easiest to put images on as I have had problems my self and I am supposed to be computer literate but this could be just Aol!!

I found the easiest way was to use the album section under your personal profile. It seams quite straight forward to put images into an album providing the image file isn’t too large and it’s quite accessible. Basically all you have to do is create an album using the directions, select the file you want to upload in the dropdown menu and press the go button.

      Kindest Regards,

      I..

        Ok here ya go.

Post your image to a host site flikr or photobucket or something simlar. on flikr above the image it will say all sizes click that.
chose size small or medium will do for this forum.
then scroll down find url, copy

come back to this forum and above the posting box you will see a little mountain icon press that a box will open paste the copied url in there.

on photo bucket copy image code thing on the list under the pic ya want.
paste it directly into the post window here.

I agree with Ian. Dont see the point in loading onto a host site then loading onto here.

Just upload straight from your own pc files. click the "upload pics" button then click the "browse" button to access your pics on your pc. double click on the pic you want to upload.

Once you have uploaded to your profile album, when you open the pic there are two boxes underneath the pic - one with URL and one with IMG codes. Copy the URL code.

When you are making a post you want to add pics to, look at the little menu bar at the top of the dialogue box you type in. Click on the little square picture button and it will ask you for the URL code. Just paste it.

Hope I've got this right (its easier to do it than it is to explain it). If I haven't then I'm sure someone else will help.

One point to remember is that if you remove the pics from your forum album at any point in the future then that pic will be deleted from any thread you've posted in.

I'd recommend Flickr as well... especially as you get your own 'page' which you could add to business cards, flyers, etc.

I am so grateful to you all. Once my daughter has collected her offspring (Twins) I will have a go and hopefully you can see the results later.
              Thanks a million again.

I also use the Flickr website for most of my pictures...although Webshots is another great photo website. Very easy to use as well!

                  How about this

Not sure I could do it again though. I made this for 14 yr old Grandson, not quite finished yet still got quilting to do and edges to bind. He wanted a colourful one.
I will try to paste it in the right forum.
Thankls again for all your help
