Practice does make perfect though so I would get some old glass to have a play with before using your slides.
Some tips .....
Put the slides down on a few thicknesses of newspaper or scrap of old carpet. This helps stop it from moving around as you score it.
Only score the glass once. More than once and it will not know which line to break along
When you are scoring move the glass cutter away from you. Not quite sure why but that is how I was taught
Start off by scoring a little notch on the edge of the glass (cut towards you this time). This will then help to locate the wheel of the cutter for your main cut.
When you come to break the glass, rest it on your first fingers on the underside of the glass and your thumbs on the top with the score mark between them. Then try snap the glass as if you were snapping appart two fingers of a kit kat and ... as the french say "There it is!!!" 2mm glass should be very easy to snap.
Good Luck
Sometimes it takes a long long time to find the quickest way!
