  • Advice requested on mosaic table.

I have a garden table with a mosaic surface. The tiles are set in a type of cement and many of the tiles have come loose. After I have re-glued the tiles, is there anything I can coat the table with to stop any more tiles coming out? I wondered about something like yacht varnish which could be poured on fairly thick. Is there anything else you could recommend?

    Hello,

I would use waterproof grout, the sort of thing you would use to grout a shower, available from DIY shops. Yacht varnish could be messy and I am not sure it is self leveling.
One thing you could explore is the self leveling sealant for floors, this should find it way into all the nooks and crannies and dry flat and level.

    Hope this helps.

You could also float clear resin across the top, you’d need a slight raised edge to stop overspill first and be sure the surface was 100% level.
