  • Piccies of your workspace?

    Hi all,

I am currently decking out one of our sheds as a new workshop for my sewing and crafts.

I'm really excited so I'd love to see where you do your craft work to get inspiration for layout and decor.

I'm going to have a large cutting table for my costume work, lots of shelves and our old kitchen worktops as a messy work area.

I'll post pics when we've made a dent.

    So lets see your workspace!

    Thanks,
    Freya

i have the spare room as my craft room but its usually a total mess as i start something then go back to it i tidy up when someone is coming to stay but i wont take pictures as you will think im a total slob my hubby built me desk and shelves which are constantly filled so i usually work from the bed thats in the room with a big board on it to give me a hard surface.

My workspace is whereever I can get - I have to put everything away each time so that my two little horrors don't pull everything apart. One day I might have a permanent area.

            Morning.
I'm using a large computer workstation at the moment, but have a shed waiting to be built in the garden which will be my new studio!
I tend to use a lap tray with my beading board or mat on and sit it front of the telly!
            With love

Don't be sad. My stuff is all in a corner in the living room. I said to Bob last night that a card takes me twice as long as it should because I'm up and down like a yo yo trying to find things!!! I mumble and grumble and talk to myself all the time!!!!!! When this extension is finished I'm having a posh bit in one of the bedrooms for my workspace. ( I hope). Sob Sob.

You really wouldn't want to see mine, well you couldn't anyway even if I took a photo because it is such a mess!!! I took over the spare bedroom, hubby built me workbenches etc in there and we got rid of the bed, but there is stuff EVERYWHERE and you an hardly see the workbenches. BUT, in my defense, it is creative clutter, and a tidy neat room means an idle mind!!! LOL.

I'm sure you don't need a picture of my sofa and coffee table covered with curly paper and a TV for company! I haven't got anywhere for a craft room, so I make do with making a mess of the lounge on a regular basis and tidying up when I feel it all gets in the way!

Well it's my project for the next two weeks while the girls are on holiday to get the craft room tidied! I've taken some before pictures and I'll write about it on my blog once it's done and dusted!

If you want an inspirational work space my favourite belongs to whatkatiedid. If I could have someone else's shed this would be it. (The link takes you to her set of photos about her shed on Flickr and there are more shots if you look on my fave pix - also on Flickr). It's just so colourful and cosy-looking.

Ok - after seeing that shed I don't want to post my pics but I will do!! Please note that these are all before photographs - and I haven't even started tidying it up yet. Mess means creativity doesn't it???? It's on my blog as there are too many pictures to upload here.
