  • Help with food labelling.

    Hi there.

I'm new here and this is my very first post, so please be careful with me.

I really would like some advice for labelling my products.

If for example I was making a cookie which was then dipped in a branded chocolate and then covered in jellytots or other branded sweet, would I need to list the ingredients of the cookie as well as all the other sweets I have added to it?

    So confused, please help!

Your local trading standards should be able to help you here. They're not scary, just give them a call

It all depends on how you plan to sell them!!

If you are packaging them or selling through a third party you need to list all ingredients in assending order. However, if you are selling them directly to the customer, you don't need any!!! Although I always add a best before date on my orders!

Call your local Trading Standards as suggested above and they can give you definitive details.

I will be selling straight to customers, such as a craft fair or via my facebook page plus any children's parties etc.

          Thank you for your advice
