Veggies - some help towards your 5 a day? Or NOT!!

Remember that big birthday cake I'm going to be making? I'm planning on making all the decorations for it, to reflect all the things my Dad loves best, beforehand.

The bricks for the little wall to reflect his buildings kills are coming along nicely, and I've started on table-tennis bats and bowls too for his sporting interests. The football boots were a disaster, and I'm not done with making fish yet. But I'm pretty much done making the vegetables reflecting his love of gardening - what do you think?





They're made in a mix of fondant icing and flower paste. The cauliflower is about an inch across, and the carrots are under an inch long... oh SO fiddly! And my asparagus broke when I unwrapped it from the tissue paper to take the photo... sob...

It did indeed take me a long, long while to make them... But it's the sort of thing you can do on a lap-tray in front of the TV, when programmes about submarines and such are on!

They are Fantastic! That is a talent darl. You should have a go with polymer clay they will last a lot longer lol, I would be eating those haha! It seems such a shame to eat all that hard work eh?

Yup, Indri, that's a weeny little worm. The two dodgy black things ought to be slugs, but aren't very impressive-looking or terribly sluggy... ah, well. Nobody likes slugs anyway!

I dunno about talented - bloody-minded and persistent, more like. If it doesn't look like a carrot, squish it up and have another go... repeat until it DOES blasted well look like a carrot!

I have no clue what this cake will look like - a total mish-mash, I reckon. But fun!
