  • How to hem chiffon

Hi, I'm making a dress that has chiffon as its outer layer. I am stuck on how to hem it but get it looking neat.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to finish the bottom of the skirt? It will be about knee length when it is finished. Would it be best to get some kind of tape or ribbon and sew it over the bottom of the skirt?

    Thanks!

I tend to roll the edge and loop stitch it, It's what they used to do with ladies chiffon scarves.

        Hi
well i use a heming atachment for my machine that gives a rolled hem and if you play with the tension you can get a very pretty scalloping which i love.Takes a lot of time to get right and it isprobable quicker by hand but i like playing

I've always rolled and hand stitched chiffon - just as my grandmother taught me for scarves!

Same problem here! I roll & loop, just like Beadsbydesign. It's not easy. Sometimes I just give up in frustration. Handsewing is easier, but takes time. Good luck to you.
