Acid free paper

Im reading a leaflet from Hobbycraft and it has a section saying-paper/card with a high acid content can deteriorate over time.Also Lignin free paper is best to use.

If I buy packets Im assuming it will say wether the paper is free of these things but how d I tell with individual sheets of paper/card?
Also is there any kind of sealent/varnish that can be used if they arent acid/lignin free?

Hi Seahorse

You can buy something called a Marvy Acidic Identifier Pen that wil tell you the acidic quantity in paper, cards etc.

It usually costs around £2.20 and you'll find them in most good craft shops/webshops.
