Somewhere on here there is a thread covering tax on charity fund raising. If I remember right it is best to approach the charity of your choice regarding this. I will see if I can find it but don't hold your breath as I can't remember any key words except 'tax' and 'charity' which must cover thousands of threads. lol.

Many charities employ people to oversee fundraising and they are only too pleased to help. I would advise you contact the charity and they will talk you through all the requirements and help you with this. I have an agreement in place with a charity and they drew up all the necessary paperwork and I signed on the dotted line...it now works like a charm.

        I wish you luck.

I donate the profit from the sale of my cards to the Sands charity.

I just contacted their fundraising dept and they sent me a registration form to become a registered fundraiser.

'Doreen's Dreams' Or is that too cheesy? How about just using her name 'Doreen'

No reason why you couldn't use a place name.

not sure about Doreens dreams something along those lines though , I think I would like to use her name in some way
I've contacted a photographer friend of mine and asked if he'd be willing to donate a couple of photos that we could use for the range
I'm also thinking of asking my cousins to take some scenic photos of where they live in Scotland and maybe using those ??
now this is completely off the top of my head as I really have no idea what to do but I was thinking of pricing the cards at £1.50 each with 50p from each card going to cancer research - opinions please

                      For Our D?

I wonder if you can do something through paypal - a percentage of a certain card goes direct to the charity and is sent on a monthly basis? I know that ebay does these type of listings (we have a donation from certain items going to the North West Air Ambulance) but not sure if just paypal does it....

                      Good luck!!

I have been chatting with my cousin and she likes the name Doreens Dreams - she also likes the idea of turning the D around on the Dreams word so that it looks like a butterfly as these are my Aunts favourite
I seem to have a lot of friends that are either photographers or just enjoy taking photos and they are happy to donate photos for me to use in this new range
on another forum they said I would need permission to use the name cancer research but if I just put x amount will be dontated to cancer charities then that would be fine , then I could choose a different charity each year if I wanted
does anyone know where I could get a rubber stamp made up that I could design myself ???
what I was thinking of was setting up a facebook page for the new range so that although it would still come under sunrisecards it would be a bit separate and then I could update it with amount raised etc
was also thinking that on special occasions like my Aunts birthday we could design a 'special ' card and from any sales made on that card we could donate maybe a bit more ??

i thought you might like to know we are running with the name Doreen Dreams thank you x we are going to reverse the D on the word Dreams so that it looks like a butterfly as they are my aunts favourites , my daughters boyfriend is going to try and design a logo , we have decided to say that x amount from each card will be donated to a cancer charity that way we can vary which one we choose , if it is a male cancer charity eg prostrate then the butterfly on the logo will be coloured in blue , female cancer charity eg breast cancer the butterfly will be pink and a childrens cancer charity the butterfly will be multi coloured , I would like to get a rubber stamp made up of the logo does anyone know where I could get one made ??? the cards will be a photographic range and I have loads of people donating photos so that we can use them . on special occasions eg my aunts birthday and christmas we will add a special card to the range and a bigger amount from that card will be donated to the charity, I will set up a different facebook page for doreens Dreams which will run alongside sunrisecards
                          exciting times x xx

don't forget to look into gift aid too. it gives you the tax portion back.
