  • How much do shops usually pay for cards?

I realise that might be a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' type question, but I'm just wondering because I have a farm shop who are currently buying about 20 cards a month for £1.25 each, they then sell tham for £1.75. This is great for me, as it means my profit margins are really comfortable, but am I right in thinking that most places have a bigger mark-up/want to pay less than that? If it's likely to be much less than that then I won't worry about approaching any more places for now.

    Thanks

What i've done with the owner of my local pet shop is - she doesn't pay for the cards i have in her shop, but she will take 15p from the sale of any... if i ever get any that is!!

Thanks. I guess the smaller places that aren't traditionally card shops may give us better deals. Yours sounds great, they're barely making anything on them! I can never understand why places normally want such huge margains, although obviously it lines their pockets nicely!
