Hole punch sharpener

Is there such a thing? I have a 20mm round hole punch that I totally struggled to find and ended up paying a fair bit to get it shipped from the US. Iv not used it THAT much but now its not cutting properly at one particular bit! and i really need it!

I think i may have found an answer. Apparently, if i punch lots of holes in tin foil, it sharpens the punch! And then punch some holes in some wax paper and that libricates it! ta da!

But any other suggestions greatly recieved

I've not tried it myself, but I've heard or read somewhere that punching through fine grade sandpaper can sharpen punches...

Well that is just what I was going to suggest you do. Thats what I do with mine.

I would've suggested tin foil too as that's what someone on here suggested to me when one of my dies wasn't cutting through properly.

Tin foil should work I ruined a couple of punches though, by using them on card that was too thick

I have just bought a set of punches and the 'instructions' suggest the tin foil to sharpen and the wax paper to lubricate!

was trying the tin foil last night. Didnt seem to work. But them, it was the tesco value tin foil that you spit pea's through haha. Will have to invest in the good stuff I think.

i was going to suggest the tin foil trick too although I didn't know about the wax paper lubricating bit so that's good to know. Yeah, got to get a bit of Baco foil Jill!! There are definitely some cruddy tin foil out there isn't there, tried a few different ones and they're awful
