  • I'm getting paid for something!!!

I have put a new album on my profile, my friend has asked me to make cards for two of her daughters and I'm getting paid for them. It is the first time I have sold anything it was refreshing to make something to 'order' rather than just for fun. Let me know what you think.

Thanks everyone, it is a thrill, I've dug out an old money box I used to use for my son (he's got a bigger one now!!!, he's the only person with any money in our house!!), and I have decided to keep my proceeds from this same in here, hopefully along with others. (As I have loads of cards I've made recently I'm going to take them into work to see if I can get any buyers, I haven't done this before. I suppose it's about confidence but now I do feel they are good enough). I thought if I put the money away I can use for more craft stuff rather than it just being spent on the household essentials..bread, milk,...wine..etc!!

            Well done, fab news!

You are so right, a huge part of selling is about confidence, and the first sale is obviously the hardest! You have that hurdle out of the way now, so yes, yes, yes - take them into work. People will love them!

May this sale be the first of many!

Great news about your first sale and gorgeous cards!!

I agree with everyone else that it is all about confidence, but once you start getting sales then your confidence will grown so I would definitely take them into work and I'm sure you'll have lots of interest

Thanks everyone. I am actually quite excited about showing my cards off tomorrow, I am proud of them!! I've decided to keep a box of them in my office and put a notice in the staffroom, so if anyone is caught out without a card they know where to come and don't have to dash out to the high street!!

Keep everything crossed for me. xxx

If you have your own workstation this is a great idea, a friend of mine sells lots of cards this way and also gets quite a few commissions for personalised cards now that people now what she can do.

lovely cards, I still find it hard to believe that people want to pay money for things I have made for the sheer joy of making them and then to be given commissions for work, well as i said it's unbelievable, Keep up the good work, your cards are lovely and that buzz you get when someone buys some of your work is a great feeling

It's always a great feeling when someone likes your work enough to buy it.

                              Good luck with it all.
