  • HELP!! What Glue??

Hi there, in need of some help!! Don't know what glue to use to stick tiny embellishments on to cards - like diamonds, buttons etc. I hate using the glue gun as it leaves a horrible mess (and burns my fingers!!). I've bought ready to stick embellishments, but they are expensive.

I am sure I am living in the past and there must be something fab out there for me to use!!

    HELP PLEASE!

I've only ever got PVA or pritt stick in my house for crafting, and pritt is certainly no good. Sometimes things like that will even drop off with PVA, but not too often. I think it's that they have smooth surfaces so the glue can't soak in a little to the item.

You can get tiny glue dots and I'll often use these - pop the dot on your card first and using tweezers add the embellishment. PVA glue is strange as I find it works well with most embellishments but it doesn't seem too keen to stick the flat backed gems. Oh and recently I've been using a textile glue (designed to stick gems, sequins etc to fabric) to stick my gems to cards and it works really well - only used it cos I'd left my other glues at the shop and needed to finish a card at home.

There are micro dots which are good for small gems etc or silicon glue which is good for decoupage ( I don't like the smell of it though) you can get the dots in other sizes as well as micro

second vote here for the tacky glue in the gold bottle - it's called Aleene's Original Tacky glue and it dries clear.

and another vote - I have been using it today and it seems to stick most things and as you have said it dries clear, which is a help if you are not quite as tidy as you might be!!
