  • Envelopes.....

Do fellow card crafters buy envelopes or do you make your own.

I make my cards by hand, from card stock. I aren't sure if it would be cheaper to make the envelopes rather than buying them.

If anyone does buy them, are there any good suppliers!

Thanks again, you are all extremely wonderful and lovely for helping me out

Depends on the size of the card, if unusual I make if not buy the packs from Craft Central, not too badly priced. I think making the plain white or cream ones you have to weigh up the time involved and decide which is quicker. It is not always cost effective to make.

I make some, but tend to buy on the whole, it's so much quicker & easier. Agree with Caroline about Craft Central, they are well priced & usually have a good range, haven't found an online supplier, be interested to see if anyone comes up with a good one.

        Thanks for the advice ladies

I take it that craft central is a shop? I wonder if there would be one in Glasgow then, we are about an hour away from Glasgow.
An online retailer would be really good, as we have one art shop near us and the envelopes are quite expensive.

I buy the card and envelope packs cos I just don't have time to make envelopes myself, it's just too footery (there's a good Scottish word that might confuse our fellow crafters south of the border ).

I sometimes make those envelo-box thingys if I've got a comissioned card that's got a bit of depth to it as I think that really impresses

Where abouts in Scotland are you? There's a good craft shop in East Kilbride - I'll go and see if I can find the name/address for you

Yes, my local one is in a garden centre, but their prices are competitive (on most items) & they stock a reasonable range of things.

                    You're welcome

The place I was talking about is http://www.futura-online.co.uk/shop/ - their website isn't great to be honest, but anytime I've been in I've ended up spending a fortune. We don't tend to get there very often though as it's only when we're up in EK visiting family, and these days then tend to come down to us.

They are located on the Kelvin Industrial Estate in East Kilbride and not only sell card making goodies (and lots of them) they also sell Christmas and party supplies, conservatory furniture, wedding craft items and lots more - definitely worth a look if you're in the area.

                    Hope this helps
