  • Don't make cards when you're tired!

Suddenly remembered this evening that my neice's birthday is coming up & I'll need to get a card in the post by the weekend, so thought I'd better get on and do one, as I'm busy tomorrow.

So stamp up some pretty fairies and colour them in (all sparkly with Sakura Stardust) make up the card, had a small scrap of backing paper left that went perfectly, so stuck that on & all is looking good, so whilst my fairies were drying, I stamped up Happy Birthday inside the card and embossed it too, again all pink & sparkly. I then noticed that the front of the card was looking a bit warped, as if it had been heated - oh no - I'd only gone and stamped Happy Birthday on the wrong side of the inside of the card, had it turned upside down, so it was behind the front of the card (if that makes sense). So when you opened the card, on the left hand-side and upside down was the Happy Birthday!!

So to cover up my blunder I stuck a piece of paper over it, using double sided tape, and I don't know what I did, but I closed it and when I opened it up again it had moved and so was crinkled on one side, but now firmly stuck down. Aaargh!

Card in bin, too much of a mess to retrieve at this point. Luckily I hadn't stuck the fairies on the front, but of course I didn't have any more of the backing paper I'd use, so I had to re-design the front of the card all over again - took ages!

That's what happens when you rush and are tired - not a good combination!

Lol - seems like we've all been there and done that, or something similar.

I don't know how many cards I've made which have ended up in the bin because of something silly I've done.

Well glad it's not just me so frustrating though.

Kay, I'm sorry but your reply made me laugh, I bet whoever got that card couldn't get over how wonderful the envelope was - you could start a whole new trend
