  • How many cards?

    I need some help.

I am doing my first craft fair on 7 December at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton and wondered how many of my handmade cards to take with me.

I will be taking a combination of normal cards and bookatrix, romper, butterfly and fan cards.

I had thought that about 70 of the bookatrix, romper, butterfly and fan cards together with about 300 of the normal cards (about 120 normal christmas and 40 bookatrix christmas cards).

Does this sound about right or should I make more christmas cards?

Any feedback will be gratefully received.
    Sam

I am not an expert in these things but I'm sure someone who is will come along.

I imagine the numbers that you are taking should really be in line with how big your sales area is. How big is your table? Will you be able to display everything effectively as items can't be purchased if your customers don't see them. How many people attended the show last year? Then you can work out how many people may attend and that could help you decide if you have enough stock.
    Good luck.

Good luck. Your amount of stock sounds fine to me!! I have been told not to take too many Xmas cards when I do mine as they can be bought so cheapky with all the charity cards around but I am still taking some!! Sue xx

Is this a multiple day event?

I'd take as much as you can but bear in mind what Funky Hand said about display! You could do a few of the same in case they sell out and you can replace them

          Thanks for your replies.

The fair is just a 1 day event, but I thought that people might be on the look out for handmade christmas cards at the beginning of December.

My table is 6 foot and my cards will be displayed in baskets and the special ones will be stood up at the back of the table (well that's the plan at the moment!).

I just started to panic last night when I realised how many cards I still need to make. Never mind, back to the grind!
