  • Anyone up for this idea...?

So the nights have drawn in, the heating is on, the sun cream, flipflops and mankinis are safely tucked away and that means winter is upon us.
That of course means the dreaded "C Word" is right around the corner! (Bah Humbug!).

I was recently chatting with a few chandlers in the US who said they often do a little "Swap Comp" around this time of year. The idea being they pick names from a hat and anonymously send a candle to that person with the view to getting some constructive feedback and giving a gift at the same time.

Anyway, this got me to thinking perhaps that might be a fun thing to do too.... You see where I'm going with this????

No theme for the candle required so it could be something you're planning for your spring/summer/autumn range, something you'd already made for your winter range or even just something you wanted to try out. A tealight, a votive, a container, a pillar, a melt, a hurricane... Your choice!

I know it doesn't give a LOT of time to perfect something and there is the cost of sending, but you'll get something in return at least .

If you fancy getting involved, let me know by reply to post and I will pull together a list of names and randomise who we will all send to.
Obviously you will know who you're sending to but they will not know who they are receiving from so you can be as brutally honest and/or complimentary about the candle as you like.

I think it sounds like fun and don't want to be sending a candle to myself!!! A great opportunity for new chandlers as well as those slightly longer in the tooth... So who's up for it?

So would we send candles anonymously, without identifying labels?

I'm in! I've just been told my message is too short for this post.

I'd like to give this a whirl, I've only been doing this for 3 weeks, and only made 5 candles so far but why not?

                            Hi Candle makers.
Regarding your little foray into the world of swapping. We sincerely hope you all have fun and thoroughly enjoy yourselves. We must make you aware at the same time that we, The Craftsforum.co.uk will, in no way be responsible for any loss or damage to you or your products during this said foray. Good luck with it. It can be such an enjoyable time. Everybody who takes part loves stuff like SS or Easter Bunny. Perhaps next year we could all have a Halloween Hop or a Guy Fawks Give-away lol. I dream on.

God helps them that help themselves.
