    Do you mean the wax mixes with the water Isabel or do you mean in a big pot with another one around the side (like a double boiler)? The sieve is a great idea. Wonder if I've one I could spare ...

    I just put my jars/containers in a big pot with water and melt them. Then I dispence the way you described only I put them through an old seive (metal!) to remove any debris...also saves you having to stand holding the jar until empty.

    Safest way to remelt?

    Just wondering the safest way to remelt wax in unsuccessful test jars so I can use them for a different test. Up to now I've put them on an oven tray on a gentle heat then upturned, holding with oven gloves (not easy!) and let them drip into my metal jug.

    I don't have a double boiler - would it be save to put the jars upside down in the bottom of my metal jug and put in a pan of simmering water?
