  • melt pool

Some of the wicks I have tested don't achieve a full melt pool on the first burn leaving a few mms around the edge. But on burning the candle for a second time and the wax on the sides melts away and full melt pool is achieved.

I don't mind this with my candles but what do others think?

Sounds perfect, Lou. At my present rate of success, I'd be delighted with that. If I were buying candles I would look for one that behaved itself, smelled lovely and lasted a long time. Taking time to achieve a full melt pool means it will last longer so you get my vote.

Yep sounds ok to me. Mrs bought a candle the other day. Huge thing. Eco stuff......yep it had 5%soy in it. The result a huge tunnel right down the middle.
