  • Hundreds & Thousands On Cupcakes

    Hi all

I've seen some really lovely cupcakes around and i'm wondering how on earth you get those tiny hundred and thousand looking things on the top, and also cherries and other decorative bits and pieces?

    Cheers
    Nat

Sorry, i may be missing something in your question - but can't you decorate cupcakes with 100s & 1000s or real/glace cherries?

In my defence, I think it is an easy mistake to make as I don't look at what section it's been listed in, I just read the "headline" and look if it sounds interesting!

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Sorry to the OP as I have no idea how you would get them onto a candle cupcake!!!

Or soaps, as that is in the heading - maybe fine grating?

                  Hi Nat,

You can use Hundreds and Thousands on cup cake candles. Sugar sprinkles are okay for using in candles. As for cherries etc you get embed moulds and you make up your own. You can get cherry's, raisins, nuts pretty much anything you can imagine.

                  HTH.

Great, thanks Lisa. I didn't realise i could actually use the real thing.

Do you know by any chance where i can get fondant fancy moulds?

                    Thank you

                    Nat

                      Hi Nat,

You can try Sensory Perfection. I dont know if Jo does fondant fancies but she has just about every embed you can think of.

                      HTH.

could you use small beads? you can buy tubes full of lots of little ones and they would be shimmery too

Is it safe to use beads and things like real hundreds and thousand. What will happen to them once the melt/tart has melted. Is it dangerous at all.

                            Just trying to be careful.

                            Thanks

I wouldn't use anything that could catch on fire-not sure about glass beads but they are more expensive than 100's and 1000's. As for a cupcake mould I got some of those re-useable silicone cupcake cases from M&S, I think they were about £5 for 12-I'll add a photo of some I've made to my album so you can see what they come out like.
