my first decorated candle

I'm pleased with it as its my first one but would like your opinions please
I used this technique

and have heard that they are for decoration only because of the tissue paper used
if thats the case I was thinking of adding gems around the top of the candle and putting a warning on them or should I not try to sell them because of the safety aspect
again opinions please

Very clever technique.
However I know somebody in my house would light it, no matter what warnings it came with , after all that's what you do with a candle.But then I'm not one for decorative things really.

I wouldn't say dangerous but do make sure your warning includes the words along the line of
" the seller assumes no responsibility if the candle is lit as it is a purly decorative item"

It is a lovely idea and your'e candle is very sweet, ideal for Valentines day.

Have you lit one to see how it burns?

no I haven't - maybe I'll forget the gems and get a small heart stamp and stamp hearts on

I'm sure if you worded any disclaimer properly you'd be OK.

Mind you, in our household, something so pretty would never get burned. We have tons of soap my mum has produce, which my OH has deemed "too lovely to wash with"!!

as long as the warning is worded correctly and states that you take no responsability for items that are lit etc etc you will be fine. If they dont read it, thats the customers fault and not yours. Just issue a warning with the items and all will be fine

Although, if it's not to be lit, that makes me wonder - could you miss out the wick, or put one in which is purely decorative (e.g goes just to the surface), so it CANT be burned..?

Thats actually not a bad idea, or maybe dont do candles, just make decorative wax blocks

I'm not actually making the candles ( god I'm not THAT clever lol ) but I could trim the wick down so it can't be burnt
why didn't I think of that lol
