  • Paints for Candles

    Hi All

I need help, I want to paint some Snowmen and father Christmas's in readiness for my Christmas fairs but have no idea what to use.

I looked on Ebay and the one I found was a water based wax paint now is this ordinary water based paints or something completely different.

    Thank you for your help.

    wax paints

probably not what you are looking for as I have nothing to do with candles....but I do know that 'baker ross' do wax pens for drawing onto candles with..think they are some form of liquid wax stuff which you can write and draw with...about £10 for a set of several colours...
They have a website 'baker ross or yellow moon should get you to them..
Hope this helps, though I doubt it will...

      Hi Pauline,

      Jo does them Sensory Perfection.

Found these as well on Ebay Candle Pens.

I see the ones you are speaking about on ebay. I've never used water based wax pens but at £3.49 might be worth getting some to experiment with.

      HTH.

      Cheers.

Thank you both for your replies.

Lisa saw those and not the right colours but might get them to play about with.

I want mostly red and black for father christmas, the snowman only has a scarf to colour as the hat will be black also, so they might be good for that,

Pauline I totally forgot about full moons cauldron.

          Full Moons

They do reds and blacks and can buy them individually.

          Cheers.

Just a thought but have you thought about using decorating wax?

            http://212.79.59.2/download/wachsfolien_3_en.pdf

Have seen some beautiful images in books but have never had a go myself. I have one book called The Christmas craft book by Thomas Berger and in there it gives some instructions on a method called smearing which uses the decorating wax.

If you want to buy some decorating wax then try http://www.myriadonline.co.uk/modell...ng-beeswax.php - they also sell the book!
