I would immediately say no to the engraving.Unless you are VERY skilled in that way.
Youd need alot of practice, it would be very fiddly, and it may waste some luverly stones.
What were you gona use to engrave it?
Id suggest going to a jewellers and ask what they d suggest.
Alternatively Ive wanted to put writing on clear stones and the only thing I could think off is printing the words out, make a reduced photocopy, print it onto acetate, cut it out then stick it on with diamond glaze.
Very tricky and messy tho, which is why I havnt tried it yet.
Im sure it can be done by somebody highly skilled.
Maybe places like Debenhams may do a glass engraving service for anniversary presents, worth asking.
