  • Resin dilemma

Id like to resin 3d objects, but how do I do that in 1 go when I clearly need to rest it on something in order to dry??!!
Or am I just being impatient and should do the main bit in one go, rest it on something, then resin the bit I couldnt resin as it had to rest on something in a second go?

what are you trying to resin? can the items be pinned? if they can then what about jabbing onto a slightly opened safety pin the threading the circle bit of the pin on some string to hang to dry?

ps never used resin so no idea how it works!
pps i am 1/2 watching a cookery show on tv and read that you wanted to RAISIN something! doh!

I used to use resin quite a bit, have you used it before, because it really stinks so open all the windows!!

If you want to float a 3d object, pour a layer in the bottom of the mould let it set to tacky and then bed the object on top of the sticky layer so its held in place, wait for it to set then pour the rest of the resin on top.

I starte some resin work at the weekend.Going ok apart from forgetting to condition a couple of the molds so the resin probably wont come out!

Also due t my impatience I probably didnt wait til the resin was set enough before adding bits but 50% looks ok.Need to wait another 2 days till its totally set.

You can sell the finished items and label them as 'nurtured with lots of care' hehehehehe!!

I bet its a similar feeling waiting for them to set as wanting to pop fushia pods that need a 'helping' hand to open!!

Ive made a resin disc in a mold that is 1" deep. But I only want the resin piece to be about 1cm thick.
How do I stop the edges of the resin from creeping up, like it has a rim around it, can i file it down somehow?

I have submerged a rose in some resin, tho it sticks out the top of the mold so need to work out how to squish it down without ruining it.
Also added the top to the submerged shrinkle beads Im attempting to make, had to eek out some bubbles, still small ones left but not bad for a beginner.

I sprayed some release spray into a mold, instead of allowing it to dry as Im meant to I dabbed it off, and when i say dabbed I really mean wiped it off, so now I have a mold with resin in it that just aint gonna budge.
