  • Outdoor pitch sizes - tents?

I am doing my first outdoor fair in two weeks, andI am considering a small tent. (Today's garden party was "in the Church Hall if wet" - and it was...) I have found a few options, but one of the things I need to take into consideration is the normal pitch size. So, can anyone tell me (who does or runs outdoor fairs), what is the normal pitch size? I have found a nice looking gazebo, with side and back panels, but it is 3 metres square. Is this too big?

Any advice will be very gratefully received!

    Thank you.

Would it not be better to phone or email the organiser of the event you are doing and ask them?
If you are doing other out side events at the time of booking tell them the size tent you have and go from there perhaps.

I find a 3m gazebo is pretty standard for outside space, but as mentioned do check with the show organiser how much room you have been allocated/paid for. Also be aware some organisers will expect you to book 4m square space to accommodate guy ropes.

We always contact by phone, the organisers of any outdoor events we attend when we book up. Having quite a big marquee (8M x 4M) they tend to remember us when we turn up and allow a little extra room if we need it. Then it's not such a shock on the day you arrive and there is a problem.

Thank you, everyone who responded. (Reputation points have been added.) 3m square it is, then.
