Anyone know what I can use and where to get?

I bought a slipper pattern last week as I quite fancied the idea of making us all some slippers out my ever growing fabric heap. The only trouble is I don't know what to get for the soles.
The pattern says a non slip fabric. I did order some samples of some fake suede type stuff but it seams a bit flimsy for slipper soles.
Any ideas?

How about those spongey inserts that people put inside shoes to make them comfier.

look at upholstery fabric as it is much stronger.

if you plan on selling them then you should put a disclaimer notice on them stating about use on slippery floors etc. (habe a look at some in shops for appropriate wording etc)

What about the stuff they sell in the Range, it's the material backed vinyl material. I think it is used as a table protector so is a white material backing and a patterned vinyl (the one I saw was beige with circles impressed into it) they actually state it as being non-slip.

Some people use suede - of maybe faux suede.

Thanks for all your suggestions folks. Never thought of looking at upholstry fabrics. Will try that.

I'm not planning on selling them (although I might do if they are a success ), they are just for my daughters and me so I don't need to worry about legal jargon and stuff.

I'd make the soles double-layered, with some felt, padding, or something thick like that quilted in the middle, if t'were me, or they'll be quite cold to wear...
