Laptop Bag - Is there a tutorial anywhere ?

Hi, I've been asked to make a fabric laptop bag and although I haven't made one before I suppose it's just a giant zipper pouch ?

I wonder if there is a tutorial around though ?
What would be the best sort of wadding to use as I obviously need to make sure it's well padded.

hopefully one or two of them will be ok.
I think some people use the craft foam sheets ( I can't remember what they call it ) to line them with, so it is a bit firmer and offers more protection than wadding.

With regards to padding, I've just found this website and they have foam sheets which may be what you're looking for...

Also the foam sheets are available in various thicknesses too.

There might be a bit of a market niche here for custom made/personalised bags (especially think kids).

Also take a look at laptop 'skins' - as I imagine these could be crafted to order quite well - I had great trouble finding a good one for my laptop as its teeny - a slightly non standard size!

I made one for my DS i just made a slim messenger bag ! I used quilters wadding for the padding , i hope that helps

First laptop Sleeve Finished ..

Finally got round to finishing it ! The recipient was chuffed but I've learnt a lot on this prototype and the next one should be more straightforward.

Feedback would be lovely ! I've used some funky Amy Buter fabric and think it looks quite funky - although my brother thinks it looks like I've pulled down our Nan's old curtains

I suspect we don't, as I'd be tempted to make a similar comment, but I'm too polite

However, it looks great - especially for a first attempt (pattern aside)!
