  • Cake decorating stuff!

    Hello!

I've decided that doing a full time job, running a craft business and doing a child psychology course isn't enough -so I'm going to start doing a cake decorating/sugar crafting (or is it pasting?) course!

I need a load of materials - things like crimpers (always thought that was an 80s hair thing but hey! ), embossers and cutters and cake baords and a whoel ehap of stuff! Anyone know where is a good place to get all this stuff?

Try Squires near Farnham Station, not that far from you through Fleet so may be worth a trip or to the exhibition next year, held at the Maltings normally in March lots of suppliers and bargain offers of equipment etc.

    Good Luck

Hi, I used to do a lot of cake decorating. I started off making it up as I went along & using books then I did an evening class in sugarcraft & learnt to make flowers and people & stuff. I got a lot of my tools & cutters from e bay to start as I wasn't sure what I would need & luckily enough a lady was selling off a lot of her stuff as no longer had time for the hobby. Some of the tools can be very expensive for what is basically a piece of plastic so e bay may be a good start.

                  Hi

                  I would cakecraftshop.co.uk

They seem to stock everything, they are also very polite and helpful. They also have two shops in kent.

I have orderd stuff from a site called partyanimalonline, they have a great range of stock and have very fast delivery.

                    Hope this is helpful

I orderd some sugarflair colours off them and patchwork cutters, they seem to have a good selection.

                    Take care x

As well as the contacts here, you might find joining the Sugarcraft guild handy.. for advice and support as well as the best suppliers - you may even get a discount? www.bsguk.org is their website.

                          Cake supplies

                          Hi there,

Ive made many cakes over the years and I recently made one for my brother and sisters birthday. I changed my cake design at the very last minute and so searched the internet to find various cake suppliers.

I ended up ordering from a couple of sites, one of which has already been mentioned, the cakecraftshop and http://www.makeawishcakeshop.co.uk I found both to be very helpful. I realised on the Thursday I didnt have a star cutter which was going to make my life easier so I placed an order for this, along with a few other bits and pieces around 4.45 p.m. that Thursday afternoon and was astounded to have received them in the post the following day! It certainly helped me as the cake was needed for the Sunday!

Heres my finished cake which you might like to see as I know I really enjoy looking at other peoples crafts and designs.

                            Cake decorating supplies.

By far this online shop [MOD EDIT - please do not recommend your own business on the pretence you are a customer - it is dishonest!] provide the most competitive price, therefore I keep going back and ordering from them.
