  • Bow patterns

    I am having trouble finding a simple pattern to make bows. I have found one for a bowtie but would just like the bow bit.

    Any help? it seems such an easy pattern can't believe the trouble i'm having

    Hi Amsie,
    If you look in most craft shops you can get a bow maker, it is a piece if plastic with small posts that you tie your ribbon around, perfect bows every time. If you can't find one locally, just google bow maker and you should find loads.

      Are you talking about making them in fabric? If so try this.

      Take a length of fabric and fold in half lengthwise, stitch the seam, turn inside out press then fold raw ends into middle and tack.
      Repeat for the ends but this time leave the gapo for turning in the middle of the long seam, stitching all 3 sides. turn and press. place the first folded piece in the middle of the long end strip. Make a small pieces for the centre the same way as the first piece but narrower, wrap around the middle of both pieces and slips stitch in place, adjust the bows. Hope this makes sense, but easier to do then explain.
