  • Using nail varnish on jewellery

Hi all, I have some copper jewellery which I would like to stop tarnishing. Does anyone have any experience/thoughts on the safety and effectiveness of using clear nail varnish, the jewellery will be next to my skin?
Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

It's surely safe, as long as you let it dry completely. Can't say as to the effectiveness...

Oh what a good idea.......can't wait to see the finished results.
A friend of mine puts it on metal thats next to her skin, such as the button on jeans, because she has an allergy to it and I don't think it has an effect on the metal.

      Good luck

Only problem will be when it starts chipping - you just have to re-apply.

The copper pieces I have made I have left bare, copper is quite well marketed as an aid to arthritic conditions. the viking weave bangle I made about 18 months ago is looking really good now the high spots have a matt sheen from wear and the rest has a natural patina giving it character
