I found a wonderful template through this website showing how to make small square gift boxes
the site was very informative and the box was sooooooooooo easy to make
but I now have the markings eg the dotted lines inside the box and it just doesn't look right
hubby suggested printing off the template onto tracing paper and then using this to transfer it to the card
do you think that would work ???

You could have the template on thin paper and score the lines onto the card you want to work with using a blunt knife or a scoring tool. That way you won't have the lines showing, and the box might be easier to fold as it is pre-scored.

You don't say which website the box is from but I wonder if they are the ones that are on my website, if they are then thankyou for the feedback. I must admit I thought myself that it ashame that you could see the dotted lines on the inside when making the box, but obviously people need to know where to score lines and fold etc.
I have chatted with my hubby (he does all my websitey stuff) and we are going to have a go at re-doing the template. I'll let you know when it is done. In the mean time if you need to make one now then I suggest printing the template onto paper, cutting it out, draw around it onto card and follow the template and photos on the website for where to score, fold and glue. I hope this helps.

I make and sell templates, what you do is print the template onto a thin piece of card, cut it out, then use your cut out as an actual template.
You can then place it onto (the wrong side) of any coloured card that you want, draw around it,and cut out your box, it will then have no markings on it.
          Hope this helps

The templates are now dot free!

I have the best hubby in the world, he has removed all the dotted lines and uploaded a second lot of templates, so that you can download ones with dotted lines for reference and templates without dotted lines for a more professional look.

            I hope this helps.
