  • Birthday present list dilemma

Admitedly Im 30 and shouldnt really have a birthday list but my parents are asking for one for my birthday in august.

Ive been looking into buying a computer recently(to help with my fictional website that Id like to start to sell my goods on).
I dont really want anything except the usual CD's, DVD's and thats only if I think for ages which ones id like, if any.
Ive already got half a soldering iron and a pair of trainers(for fitness purposes not fashion)from my parents as early presents.

Would it be way too much to say to them that I dont want any prezys but suggest they may like to pay the internet fee if i buy a computer(which they can use as well)?
    Is that too much?
To any parents reading, am i a bad daughter?

I don't think so. It's only like saying you'd like a magazine subscription for your birthday isn't it? And it does mean the present lasts all year long.

this may seem a stupid question to all you 'professional' crafters, but how can you have half a soldering iron?

you can but ask seahorse! nothing ventured, nothing gained, and if they need persuading, and the fact they get to use the pc ( when though??? won't you be glued toit 24/7??) do remind them tat this will be the first step to your fortune ( this time next year, we'll be millionaires) so it will help you tohelp them later on!!!

Oh and yes how do you get half a solderingiron??

I don't think it's a bad idea at all. My son asked for a years subscription to world of war craft for his birthday. We would rather buy him something that he really wants and is going to use than something he doesn't want and it goes straight to the back of the wardrobe!!

Half a soldering iron I'm guessing is that you paid one half and they paid the other?

            Cheers.

                I would definitely ask them!

Although, beware... when the parents get to know the web they will be hooked!
                Parental control might be useful!
