  • Cracking bath bombs

Hi I am trying to make bath bombs but after I have put the mix into them mold and compressed them when I try to take them out of the mold some of them won't come out of the mold and are just splitting and sticking to the separate sections?

    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi there,

I had the same problem many times. For the most part (mainly in the beginning) it was my water distribution. This has to be really spot on for getting the right consistency for your bath bomb (how long are you squeezing before letting go usually about 20 secs should suffice). Are you following a visual recipe (like youtube)? I find these a lot easier to follow as I see better what's being done. Let me know how you get on. Are you making products for home use only??

    Good luck

    Dennis

I had the same problem when i first started out making bath bombs.
To stop them cracking, add an oil like Sweet Almond oil.
      I add a tsp at a time.

Hope this helps and good luck with your bath bombs

I experienced this a few times to. I started adding slightly more oil to recipes to keep them more lubricated. I also found my results improved when I started using a heavy stand mixer as opposed to whisking / mixing the ingredients by hand. Good luck
