  • Surfactants?!? I'm very confused...

I am around 5 months in to making, learning and trying all types of recipes (I am saving the grand finale of cold process until last!). However, although I seem to have learned an awful lot about what I don't want in my products, I am struggling when it comes to sufactants. I want to learn a bit more about them, for example I keep seeing 'used as a secondary sufactant' but nothing that says what that's in addition to?!? If anybody could point me in the right direction about where to learn about them from I would be very grateful. Thanks...Kath

    Hi Kath,

the ultimate resource on surfactants and how to use/combine them is for me the blog of Susan:

    http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.ch...?q=surfactants

I can say that it is one of the best sources about the subject (and plenty other subjects concerning making cosmetics...).

Check it out, it is really helpful.

Just an aside -- soap IS a surfactant.
