  • coffee soap

Hello - I am relatively new to soap making, I am just doing it for myself/gifts at the moment but wanted to ask - have you/how do you make coffee soap? Ive read some recipes just add used coffee grounds to the mixture at trace, others use cold strong coffee and add the sodium hydroxide to it to make the lye solution. any advice?

Hi I do both, coffee grounds and cold coffee in the lye mix - be warned though that the coffee scent doesn't carry through to the final bar but it is good as a kitchen soap at removing the onion small from your hands

We make a very strong ground coffee, let it cool, then us the liquid as the water content, as stated above, the smell doesn't carry through, the the carbon does, it is the carbon that removes cooking smells from the hands.

Coffee EO is available though very expensive.
