  • Overcooked??

    Melinda? Jane? Anybody??

I decided to work on some of my hand milled soap this evening and accidentally put the crock pot on high. then I started having some wine and getting upset about some other things...the soap had come to a boil!!

    Is it ruined???

It was great soap, but not scented....I was going to add some lavender EO...but don't want to if I have ruined it...how can I tell???

    Oh woe is me....

Okay, fine, fine...I will just have to think for myself... =)

I scooped it out (except what was in the very bottom) and plopped it into a loaf mold...it smells terrific and looks wonderful!!

Because of the rather "cooked" smell to it (originally unscented), I added a piney FO...it didn't seem to be overcoming the cooked smell, so I added some "sweet berry" - it smells awesome!! It's cooled and on the drying rack - now you can smell the hint of pine in with the sweet berry...I am calling it Christmas Berry.

I have used some of the extra in the crockpot - it lathers up beautifully! My hands feel nice...I have not checked the pH as I am out of litmus paper.

I am going to get a new crockpot...this one is ancient and overheats.

Well, we'll see how the finished product turns out - when it's dried and harder.
