  • Gemstones and Gold findings

    Hi.
Have just had a really nice chap turn up and ask for me to make his wife a pair of Ruby stud earrings on Gold findings. I have Swarvos and gold plate, but where can I go for the real thing? Any pointers gratefully received as it is for their 40th Wedding anniversary TODAY.
    Thanks

    Di.

Visit Bury market you will have a field day with the crystals you can afford.

PJ Beads is also a good one for 9ct gold findings.

        Hi Di

The snaptites are really good and very easy to set - instructions on our website... (though we only do them in sterling silver at the moment). Though it is worth noting if your going to get the gold snaptites that gold filled and 9ct gold aren't the same thing, so you might want to double check the description. Snaptites do tend to work best with a fairly sharp angle on the faceted stone, so check the stones are really secure.

We also do a four claw earring setting in 9ct Gold (in 3mm or 5mm round faceted stones) which is good as you can adjust this to the shape of the individual stone. We also have faceted rubys and ruby cabochons. Though I presumed you were looking for faceted stones...

        Good luck!
